What is a Sensitivity Flagging?

Protecting Snappers and Solvers

We’re updating our AI-powered content moderation to keep the Snap Feed safe for Snappers, and for Solvers we’re hiding distressing or inappropriate content automatically while extending new controls to help protect your teams when they use the Portal to view and handle reports.

How Sensitivity Flagging Works

When a report is submitted through the Snap Send Solve app, our AI moderation system automatically checks the content inputted by the Snapper — including photos, report descriptions, and additional question responses.

What gets flagged?

The moderation rules automatically identify and flag a broad range of sensitive content, including:

  • Harmful or explicit material: Violence, harassment, hate speech, or sexually explicit content.
  • Sensitive topics: Images of deceased animals, toilet waste, drugs, or profanity/swearing.
  • Privacy & PII: Personally Identifiable Information (such as full names, personal phone numbers, or private email addresses) and photos showing people’s faces in public feed views.
  • Targeted harassment: Aggressive or harsh criticism directed at specific Solvers, council workers, or organisations.

Key Features & Solver Controls

  1. Automatic Blurring & Content Hiding
    • Automatic Blurring: Photos containing sensitive or graphic material are blurred by default in the Portal to prevent unexpected exposure to distressing content.
      • SUGGEST INSERT IMAGE HERE (with blurred image)
    • Public Snap Feed Removal: Flagged reports are automatically hidden from the public Snap Feed, maintaining a respectful and constructive public platform.
  2. Manual Controls & Overrides
    • Override Auto-Blur: If content was flagged due to a false positive (or if you need clear visibility to complete work), you can unblur or adjust the display settings.
    • Custom Blurring & Feed Controls: If the AI misses a sensitive item, authorised users can manually blur content or hide the report from the public Snap Feed.
    • Transparency: View clear indicators explaining why a report was flagged by the AI system.

Feature Access

Admin Users at Enterprise Solvers will be able to manage Snap Feed visibility and customise default blurring settings for their team, and override AI moderation decisions.

Standard Users will benefit from automatic content blurring and see explanations for AI content moderation flagging.

How to View and Manage Flagged Content in the Portal

If you are an Enterprise Portal user, sensitivity flags appear in two main locations:

  1. Reports List: Look for the Sensitivity flag column. (If this column is hidden, click the Settings cog above the list and enable it in the column display panel.)
    1. SUGGEST INSERT IMAGE HERE (use new column view image)
  2. Report Details Page: View the Sensitivity flag field to see the flag status and the reason behind the AI detection.
    1. SUGGEST INSERT IMAGE HERE (use split view image)

Note: Even when a report is flagged and hidden from the public Snap Feed, it remains fully accessible to your team in the Portal so you can action and resolve the issue without delay.

A note about sensitivity flagging

Sensitivity flagging is uses AI which can sometimes be incorrect or misleading. While it helps filter content at scale, it’s not perfect. Some requests may be flagged incorrectly, and others may not be caught. Snap Send Solve run regular reviews to make sure sensitive content doesn’t appear publicly in Snap Feed.
