# Manage Your API Key

## Generate and manage the API key your organisation uses to connect external systems to Snap Send Solve.

### Before you start

Only Solver Admins can see the **Security** page and API key access must be included in your contract.

**Note:** Each organisation can have one active API key. Keys are generated by the system.

### Generating your API key

1. In the left menu, click **Security**.
2. Under **API Key**, click **Generate API Key**.
3. Your new 20-character key appears, hidden by default.

### Viewing, copying and deleting your key

Next to the key you'll see three icons:

- **Show/Hide**: reveals or hides the key.
- **Copy**: copies the key to your clipboard.
- **Delete**: deletes the key.

Delete your key if it has been shared by mistake, or when you want to generate a new one.

1. On the **Security** page, click the **Delete** icon next to your key.
2. In the warning message, read the details carefully, then click **Delete key**.
3. To create a replacement, click **Generate API Key**.
4. Copy the new key and update it in any systems that use it.

**Note:** Deleting your key can't be undone. Any applications or services using the old key lose access immediately and a new key won't work in them until you update it.

### Requesting access

If API key access isn't included in your contract, the Security page shows a **Get in Touch** banner instead. Click **Get in Touch** to learn more about API access and talk to the Snap Send Solve team. Once it's enabled for your account, you can generate your key from this page.
